Realistic Texture Packs

High-fidelity textures that bring photorealistic detail to Minecraft blocks, mobs, and environments.

Astroworld lists 5 realistic packs, from 256x up to 64x: Realistico, Patrix, and Stratum, and 2 more. Every one of them runs at high performance impact, because photorealistic detail at that pixel count is what costs the frame rate, not the category itself.

Realistico, made by Matteo Rizzo, is the one most people land on first here. All 5 packs cover Minecraft 1.20 through 1.21 and are Java-only for now; none of them ship a Bedrock build.

Realistico carries the newest listed update in this category, March 2025; Stratum has stood the longest without a fresh pass, since November 2024. 4 of the 5 share the pbr tag, the closest thing to a common thread here.

Before picking one, check the resolution against your own GPU: a 512x pack asks far more of your video memory than a 256x one does, and this category holds both ends. Pairing the pack with shaders through Iris or OptiFine is where the photorealistic look actually pays off; without them, the extra pixels do less work than the download size suggests.

Counted against the 1,269 block textures in Minecraft 26.2, the realistic packs here are far apart. The Patrix download redraws 1,166 of them, Luna HD 447 and Realistico only 127, so in a Realistico world most blocks keep vanilla's own art next to the few detailed ones. Patrix already covers 26.2 and has put out 31 releases since August 2023.

Luna HD64x

Luna HD leans warm: honey-toned wood, soft stone, and paintings redrawn to match the palette, with biome variants so the look shifts with the terrain.
