Patrix
32xHighly detailed realistic pack with PBR support. Known for its incredible depth and natural-looking materials that transform every block into a work of art.

What Patrix looks like on blocks

Those nine blocks are drawn straight from the texture files inside Patrix itself, at 32x. Every pack on this site is rendered in the same nine positions, so lining Patrix up against another render shows nothing but Patrix's own art.

About Patrix
Patrix comes from Patrix and sits in the realistic corner at 32x. Patrix sets vanilla's artwork aside for photo-referenced surfaces with believable grain, depth, and material wear, which lends a grounded, true-to-life atmosphere. Patrix sits in the comfortable middle: clearly sharper than vanilla, still light enough for ordinary hardware.
The details that mark it out: it leans hard into photorealism, ships PBR material maps for use with compatible shaders, includes true 3D block and item models, and packs in extra surface detail. Wander around Patrix and stone, ores, planks, foliage, and metal each get hand-detailed grime, scratches, and surface variation, so in Patrix a distant hillside matches the wall beside you.
Patrix needs Java Edition. Patrix's Patrix covers Minecraft releases between 1.19 and 1.21. With a high-impact footprint and a 210 MB download, Patrix is a strong fit for shader users chasing the best-looking frame.
That resolution puts 1024 pixels on a single block face, about 4 times what vanilla gives an artist. Patrix lists 4 supported game versions, with 2025-02-20 as its most recent listed update.
What Patrix changes
Patrix swaps the default texture sheet for 32x artwork. Here is what actually changes in-game:
- Every block, item, and mob is redrawn at 32x instead of the stock 16x.
- PBR textures: adds material maps that only render with a compatible shader pack, driving realistic reflections and depth.
- Normal maps: adds material maps that only render with a compatible shader pack, driving realistic reflections and depth.
- 3D models: replaces flat sprites with true 3D geometry for selected blocks and items.
- Custom items: contributes to Patrix's detailed, lifelike style across the world.
- Overall direction: stone, ores, planks, foliage, and metal each get hand-detailed grime, scratches, and surface variation.
How to install Patrix (Java Edition)
- 1Drop the Patrix .zip (210 MB) from above into your resource packs folder (Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder) and move it into the selected column.
- 2Its reflections and depth only show up with shaders on; add Iris or OptiFine for the look Patrix at 32x was built around.

Performance & requirements
Expect Patrix to cost a small video memory increase over vanilla, easily handled by mid-range hardware; only genuinely old or integrated cards notice it in crowded scenes.
Officially it supports Minecraft 1.19 through 1.21; on Java the newest listed version is the safest bet, and older saves usually load it without issue.
Patrix is built to be seen through shaders, and running both together roughly doubles the GPU load, so plan on 4 GB of VRAM or more.
What is inside Patrix
There are 32,263 texture files in Patrix, of which 225 move: water, fire, portals and the rest of the things that never stand still. On top of that it defines 720 of its own models, which means part of what you see is a different shape rather than a repainted one.
Split by what it covers, blocks take the largest share at 3,615 files, with mobs and entities at 1,859 and items at 1,825. The stated resolution holds up when you measure it: 5,344 of the 5,440 block and item textures inside the pack are 32 pixels wide.
A connected textures set accounts for 24,722 of them. It only comes to life with OptiFine or an equivalent mod; without it nothing breaks, the seams between blocks just stay visible. Nothing about the audio changes in Patrix, which matters if you have grown used to the vanilla sounds.

What Patrix left untouched
Patrix redraws 1,166 blocks and leaves 103 as they came. The gaps are mostly things you never look at directly: melon and pumpkin stems once they have attached to a fruit, the particle textures that bamboo fences throw off when broken, and the underside of a bell.
There are also 2,448 textures in here with no counterpart in the game, which is what a normal-map and 3D-model pack looks like from the inside; those files exist to be read by a shader, not to sit on a cube face. The redrawn art runs 27.2 points brighter on average than the original of the same block, a lift you can see on stone in daylight without putting the two side by side. 1,141 of the replacements measure 32 pixels across and 25 are drawn at 64.
Does Patrix work with Minecraft 26.2?
Covers 26.2
Patrix covers Minecraft 26.2, which is the current release, so you can use it on an up to date game without waiting for anything. Its coverage runs across 23 Minecraft versions in total, back as far as 1.20.
Being current does not stay true by itself, so the thing to watch is how quickly the pack follows the next Minecraft release.

Is Patrix still updated?
Still updated
Patrix is still getting updates. The most recent one landed on 2 August 2026, 46 days ago. Its 31 update rounds since 1 August 2023 sit roughly 31 days apart, which is the pace to compare any gap against.
Between 2023 and 2026, Patrix managed 31 rounds, 10 in 2025 alone, 9 in the past year, with 61 days as its longest pause, ended 2 January 2024.
That rhythm is what decides how long a newly added block stays vanilla, here usually within a month or two.

Patrix FAQ

Is Patrix free to download?
Yes, Patrix is free, plus no account and no payment stands between you and Patrix. 32,263 texture files sit inside Patrix: February 2025 is the Patrix revision behind that button. 31 separate Patrix releases exist so far.

Which Minecraft versions does Patrix support?
Patrix names 4 of them: 1.19, 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.21. 1.19 is the oldest Patrix names, plus Minecraft 26.2 runs Patrix as well. February 2025 is when that Patrix list was stamped.

How much detail does Patrix add?
1024 pixels fill one Patrix face, against 256 in vanilla, and 5,344 of 5,440 Patrix textures measure 32 pixels wide: 32,263 texture files sit in Patrix altogether. 210 MB is what Patrix weighs on disk.

What hardware does Patrix want?
Patrix wants a discrete card, 4 GB of video memory before Patrix is comfortable: 210 MB lands on disk before Patrix loads, and 32,263 Patrix texture files follow into memory, plus a shader pack over Patrix raises that again.

What does Patrix actually include?
Patrix lists 5 of its own: PBR textures, normal maps, 3D models, custom items and animated textures. 720 custom models give Patrix new shapes, not only surfaces. 225 textures in Patrix move rather than stand still, and Patrix sits under realistic, tagged photorealistic, pbr, 3d.

Does Patrix need shaders?
Patrix runs without them. Iris or OptiFine lights Patrix properly. Unshaded, Patrix stays flat but complete: 32,263 Patrix files load either way.

Does Patrix need OptiFine to look right?
Patrix loads without it. 24,722 textures form Patrix's connected set, and Patrix was built assuming OptiFine or Iris, plus 32x art in Patrix shows up regardless.

How do I install Patrix?
Drop the Patrix zip into resourcepacks, unchanged, plus 32x art from Patrix wins the moment Patrix sits above Default. Leave Patrix zipped: Minecraft reads Patrix packed. 210 MB loads exactly as Patrix was packed.

How big is the Patrix download?
210 MB, the way Patrix is packaged. 225 animated textures sit in Patrix, and 35,009 files sit in the Patrix archive, plus February 2025 is when Patrix last grew larger.

Who makes Patrix?
Patrix is its own project: February 2025 carries the latest Patrix pass, and 1.19 through 1.21, 4 Patrix versions in all. 31 separate Patrix releases are on record.

What is Patrix best at?
Patrix is realistic, tagged photorealistic, pbr, 3d by its author. 5 Patrix features are named, PBR textures first: Patrix holds from 1.19 to 1.21. 1024 pixels keep Patrix sharp up close.

Can I run Patrix without any mods?
Only for 24,722 files. That is the connected set Patrix ships, out of 32,263 in total, and reading it takes OptiFine or a mod that speaks the same format. Without one, Patrix installs and plays as normal: 7,541 files look exactly as intended, 225 of them animated, and the 24,722 connected ones simply show their edges. Glass and bookshelves are where you notice, nowhere else. In numbers: 77% of Patrix connected, 23% standalone, 7,541 files needing no mod, 24,722 needing one, 225 animated regardless, 32,263 in Patrix altogether, and Patrix installs identically either way.

Does Patrix work with Minecraft 26.2?
Yes, Patrix is current: 26.2 is in, 23 versions are in, 1.20 is where Patrix stops looking back.

Is Patrix still being updated?
Yes. Patrix shipped 2 August 2026, 46 days back, with 9 rounds inside twelve months. Across 31 rounds since 1 August 2023, Patrix averages 31 days between them, which is the pace to expect from Patrix after the next Minecraft release. Busiest was 2025: 10 rounds of Patrix, against 61 days as the longest pause Patrix took, ended 2 January 2024.

Is Patrix free to re-host or edit?
Playing, yes. Passing Patrix on, no. There is no license field on the listing for Patrix, and an empty field is not permission: it leaves Patrix holding every right, the same as any unlicensed work. So a mirror of Patrix, a modpack carrying Patrix, a paid server handing out Patrix, or an edit of Patrix put back online all wait on one thing, a yes from Patrix. Your own game is another matter entirely: download Patrix, drop it into resourcepacks, play, stream, record. That is also why we send you to Patrix for the file rather than keeping Patrix on our own server.
More Realistic Packs
Bump mapping and specular highlights turn stone and metal into something that catches light like the real thing, with connected textures on top so seams disappear.
At 512x with parallax occlusion mapping, Stratum pushes stone and brick into territory vanilla textures never reach, on a full Lab-PBR metallic pipeline.
Custom furniture and road markings turn Ultimate Immersion into a pack built for cities, not caves, backed by a full PBR pipeline for every surface.
Luna HD leans warm: honey-toned wood, soft stone, and paintings redrawn to match the palette, with biome variants so the look shifts with the terrain.
