About Faithful 32x
Faithful 32x doubles the resolution of Minecraft's default textures while keeping every shape, silhouette and color exactly where players already expect it. According to the project's own contribution log, that work now adds up to 11,362 individual contributions across 5,852 textures, made by 131 artists. That's what their log records, not a claim that every vanilla texture is finished; the table below breaks that down by category and edition.
The project has stayed active since 2020: the log shows 93 changes in the last 30 days and 2285 in the last 12 months, with the most recent entry dated 2026-08-11.
Coverage, Java vs Bedrock
Java and Bedrock are separate texture sets in the project's own data, not two builds of the same file, so a category can be finished on one edition and not the other. Overall the log shows Java at 97% (4,637 of 4,772) and Bedrock at 90% (4,852 of 5,403).

Faithful 32x leaves three textures alone
Almost nothing escapes this one. Of the 1,269 block textures the current game draws, Faithful 32x supplies 1,266. The three it does not touch are the lightning rod when lit, the overlay that tints redstone dust, and the overlay laid across water, all of which the game uses as a filter rather than as a surface.
It also adds nothing of its own: every file in it answers to a name the game already had, which is the whole point of a pack that promises the original artwork at four times the density. Brightness barely moves either, an average of 4.2 points up out of 255, and colour separation shifts by a tenth of a point. Of the 1,266, some 1,224 measure 32 pixels across and 42 are drawn at 64.
What is inside Faithful 32x
Faithful 32x carries 4,705 redrawn texture files, and 162 of those are animated rather than still. Shapes stay vanilla: it repaints surfaces without replacing the models underneath, so nothing in your world changes size or silhouette.
Split by what it covers, blocks take the largest share at 1,266 files, with items at 804 and mobs and entities at 745. The stated resolution holds up when you measure it: 2,021 of the 2,070 block and item textures inside the pack are 32 pixels wide.
859 of those sit in a connected textures set. That part needs OptiFine or a mod that reads the same format, and without one the pack still loads, those blocks simply do not join up. Sound is untouched in Faithful 32x, so the game still sounds exactly like vanilla.

Version support
Java Edition has 30 separate Faithful 32x builds on record, from b1.7.3 through 26.1. The files it publishes reach past that list: the newest Minecraft release covered is 26.2, which is served from the same build rather than from a numbered one of its own. Bedrock Edition isn't versioned the same way: it ships as one rolling pack that gets updated in place rather than as numbered builds per Minecraft version.
You can run Faithful 32x on the current Minecraft release: 26.2 is covered. Its coverage runs across 91 Minecraft versions in total, back as far as 1.4.2.
What keeps that true is the pack following each new Minecraft release, which is worth checking against how often it updates.

How to install Faithful 32x
Java Edition
- 1Download the .zip for your Minecraft version and keep it zipped, don't extract it.
- 2In Minecraft, open Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder.
- 3Drop the .zip into that folder, then select Faithful 32x from the list on the right.
Bedrock Edition
- 1Download the .mcpack. Bedrock uses its own file, so the Java .zip files won't work here.
- 2Double-click it to let Minecraft import it directly, or import it from inside the game.
- 3Turn it on under Global Resources, or in a specific world's resource pack settings.

Performance & requirements
Faithful 32x is rated low performance impact. Doubling resolution to 32x means four times the pixel data of vanilla 16x per texture, a real but small cost on any machine from the last several years. It's far lighter than 64x, 128x or shader-oriented packs.
Java Edition applies it with no extra setup once it's selected in Resource Packs. Bedrock needs no separate mod either, but the pack must be switched on under Global Resources or in the world's own resource pack list before it takes effect.
Who Faithful 32x is not for
- Anyone who wants a restyled or stylized world rather than a sharper version of vanilla, since Faithful is deliberately faithful to the original look.
- Bedrock players who need full coverage on every UI and GUI element right now, since Bedrock GUI sits at 57% (144 of 251) and Bedrock UI at 81% (1,247 of 1,535), both well behind their Java counterparts.
- Players chasing the absolute lowest resource pack overhead, since default 16x still costs less than any 32x pack, even one rated low impact.

Faithful 32x FAQ

Is Faithful 32x free to download?
Yes. Faithful 32x is a free, community made resource pack. The official download is linked on this page; searching for it elsewhere risks a repackaged file that doesn't match the log below.

How many textures does Faithful 32x actually cover?
According to the project's own contribution log, it holds 11,362 logged contributions across 5,852 textures, made by 131 artists. That figure is what their log records, not a guarantee that every single vanilla texture is covered; the table below shows how close each category actually gets.

Is Bedrock coverage the same as Java?
No, and it isn't close in every category. Java and Bedrock are separate texture sets in the project's own data, not two builds of the same file. Java GUI is at 93% (685 of 735), while Bedrock GUI is at 57% (144 of 251). Treat the two editions as separately finished packs, not mirrors of each other.

Will Faithful 32x slow my game down?
It's rated low performance impact. Doubling resolution to 32x means four times the pixel data of vanilla 16x per texture, which is a real but small cost on most machines released in the last several years. It is lighter than any 64x, 128x or shader-oriented pack. Java Edition applies it with no extra setup; Bedrock needs it turned on under Global Resources in world settings.

How do I install Faithful 32x?
Java: open Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder, drop the downloaded .zip in, then select it from the list on the right. Bedrock: import the .mcpack (double-clicking it opens Minecraft directly), then enable it under Global Resources or in your world's resource pack settings. Our full walkthrough covers both editions step by step.

Who should skip Faithful 32x?
Anyone who wants a restyled or stylized look rather than a sharper vanilla one, and Bedrock players who specifically need full coverage on every UI and GUI element, since that's the category furthest from finished on Bedrock right now. See the section below for the fuller picture.

Does Faithful 32x need OptiFine?
No for playing Faithful 32x, yes for one detail. 859 files in Faithful 32x belong to a connected set, against 3,846 that stand on their own, and only that first group asks for OptiFine or an equivalent mod. Vanilla Minecraft loads Faithful 32x regardless, animations included, all 162 of them. What you give up without the mod is the seamless join on those 859, not the pack. Put differently: 82% of Faithful 32x needs nothing, 859 files want OptiFine, 3,846 do not, 162 animate anyway, and Faithful 32x loads on 4,705 counts regardless of which client you open Faithful 32x in.

Does Faithful 32x work with Minecraft 26.2?
Yes. Faithful 32x covers 26.2 today, plus 91 Minecraft versions behind it, 1.4.2 being the oldest Faithful 32x still serves.

Is Faithful 32x still maintained today?
Yes. Faithful 32x shipped 19 June 2026, 3 months back, with 2 rounds inside twelve months. Across 19 rounds since 14 August 2022, Faithful 32x averages 75 days between them, which is the pace to expect from Faithful 32x after the next Minecraft release. Busiest was 2023: 6 rounds of Faithful 32x, against 178 days as the longest pause Faithful 32x took, ended 31 December 2025.

What exactly does the Faithful 32x license let me do?
Yes. Faithful 32x may be reused, Faithful 32x may be edited, and Faithful 32x may travel inside your own server, map or mod, money involved or not. Faithful Team asks three things back: name Faithful Team, link faithfulpack.net visibly, and keep the license beside Faithful 32x wherever Faithful 32x goes. Out of bounds: Faithful 32x behind a paywall, Faithful 32x behind a link shortener, Faithful 32x in crypto or NFT work, Faithful 32x as AI training material, or your project posing as Faithful Team. Full terms sit at faithfulpack.net/license.
More Faithful Packs
Vanilla Tweaks is not one look but a pick-list: lower fire, clear glass, and dozens of small swaps you choose yourself, connected textures included.
Same faithful shapes as the 32x version, just twice the resolution, with OptiFine-only extras and custom colors layered on top of full coverage.
Every texture in Compliance 32x passes a community review before it ships, which keeps the style consistent pack-wide across both Java and Bedrock.
Default Dark Mode leaves every block alone and repaints only the interface: inventory, chat, and menus gone dark, built to be easier on the eyes.
