Faithful 64x sets vanilla's artwork aside for the original Minecraft silhouette redrawn at a cleaner, sharper fidelity, which lends the familiar vanilla feel, just crisper. The step up to HD buys Faithful 64x real surface detail while leaving most machines untroubled.

Where Faithful 64x stops
Five textures out of the game's 1,269 stay original: the two debug checkerboards that only appear in a developer world, the lit lightning rod, and the redstone and water overlays. Everything else, 1,264 surfaces, is redrawn. If you want a pack you can walk past without spotting a leftover vanilla block, this is as close as anything on this site gets.
The redraw is deliberately conservative. Average brightness lands 1 point below the original art and colour separation moves two tenths of a point, so a cobblestone wall still reads as cobblestone rather than as somebody's idea of cobblestone. Sizes are honest too: 1,222 files sit at 64 pixels and 42 are drawn at 128, and none of them are enlarged copies of a smaller original.
